Professor Muhamed SUCESKA
Muhamed Suceska is professor at the University of Zagreb (2017-now). Before joining the University of Zagreb he worked at Brodarski institute, Zagreb, as the head of Laboratory for Thermal Analysis (1993-2017). He also held the position of President of Scientific Council of Brodarski institute (1998-2010, 2016-2017). In the period 2009-2016 he was invited as a Principal Research Scientist to the Energetics Research Institute, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, to help build capability in Modeling and Simulation. Prof. Suceska studied Chemical Technology at the Technical Military Academy, Zagreb (1973-1977). He received his master’s (1986) from the Faculty of Natural Science and Mathematics in Zagreb, and PhD (1991) from the Technical Military Academy, Zagreb, (1991) His research interest covers thermal analysis and characterization of explosives, reaction kinetics, thermal initiation, and combustion and detonation chemistry and physics, with current focus on numerical modeling of thermal initiation and detonation of explosives.
Prof. Suceska is a member of several scientific bodies and organizations, as well as scientific and organizing committees of several international conferences (NTREM, IPS, IPO, ESHP, CEEC-TAC, etc.). He is the Subject Editor of the Central European Journal of Energetic Materials (CEJEM) and editorial board member of High Energetic Materials.
Prof.Suceska has published 4 books more than 100 papers in international peer reviewed journal and conference proceedings. He developed several computer programs for modeling combustion and detonation. His program EXPLO5 for theoretical prediction of performance of explosives is now used in more than 40 research laboratories worldwide. He has been invited to speak at international conferences and has conducted guest lectures at several research institutions and universities worldwide including Germany, China, India, South Africa, Turkey, Singapore, etc.
